NOTE
In
August the Saudi-American Forum presented a poem, "The
Ambush," by Saudi Arabian poetess Nimah Ismail Nawwab.
On the occasion of publication of her book "The
Unfurling" in December we were pleased to feature an
interview with the author.
Ms.
Nawwab is conducting a book tour in the Washington area in the
coming week and will conduct readings and signings at the venues
mentioned below.

by Nimah Ismail Nawwab, a Saudi woman, living deeply rooted in the

and travel, writing in literary English and expressing a highly
individualized consciousness that is both Arab and cosmopolitan,
both Islamic and liberally humanist. “Her voice speaks to the
truths in all our lives regardless of nationality. It is a voice
advocating justice, compassion and a basic respect for the dignity
and rights of people everywhere."

Nimah Ismail Nawwab, a Saudi poet descended from a long line of
Makkan scholars, is an English writer and poet and photographer.
Author of The Unfurling, the first collection of poems by a
Saudi woman poet to be published in the United States. Her poems
on women, freedom, Arabian society and the younger generation of
Saudis interspersed with universal themes of love, loss and simple
joy are published online and in print. Copies of Ms. Nawwab’s
books of poetry will be available for purchase.
